A fan favourite item from Carol Christian Poell. These drip sneakers in the infamous colour 13 feature titanium inserts on the ankle and a semi worn drip sole. Walking does take a bit of getting used to but the comfort provided from the thick sole and kangaroo leather upper overshadow any of the doubts surrounding these sneakers. The drips on the bottom of the sole make this pair of shoes a rewarding hill to conquer. Comfortable padding on the inside make the titanium inserts unnoticeable when walking.
Carol is able to achieve these drips by immersing the finished sneakers in a pool of composite rubber. Letting the excess rubber to dry to form stalactites hanging off the sneakers gives the effect of having been submerged in oil. For those worried about wearing away the drips you can send these to the CCP facilities to get them re-dipped. Giving these sneakers a second or even third life. The Austrian designer has amassed a reputation for technically complex designs and this one is no different. These sneakers are object dyed after finished production to purposely create beautiful and unique blemishes.
