Collection: Richard Stark

Richard Stark founded Chrome Hearts in 1988, drawing inspiration from LA's OG biker gang & gothic style. Chrome Hearts is most famously known for its handcrafted silver jewelry, using certain motifs such as the brand all famous gothic font inscribed on all pieces, skulls & crosses.

In the early days Richard worked on biker leather and silver jewelry aesthetics, but then quickly started to turn Chrome Hearts into a lifestyle brand. He began to create ebony dining tables, chairs, vintage denim with patches, even custom car interiors. Richard says "Nothing here is made, everything here is Built" his love for motorcycles specifically "Harley Davidson" is where he got all his inspiration from in the late 80s. Simply starting in his garage, he was handcrafting the jackets he always wanted but couldn't find.

The brand started with Richard the expert in leather manufacturing and carpentry, and two partners. Leonard Kamhout, a master jeweler that worked completely exclusively in sterling silver jewelry, & John Bowman whose art direction helped steer chrome hearts signature gothic aesthetic with Richard. 

Richard won the designer of the year in 1992 and was presented with the award by his friend Cher. Many would say the brand is almost like a celebrity brand, going against all rules a typical brand would go for. Richard does not like the idea of "Collaborations" he states that when he works with another company "They just happen" and there is no hype built it just releases. The key factor in Chrome Heart's success may very well be its "Mystic" that many brands nowadays do not contain. 

Some of the more notable pieces of works were with artists such as Sex Pistols, Rolling Stones & Rick Owens, along with many more where Richard would crate unique ways of interpreting their aesthetics into his own and combining them. 

Using a combination of his works in leather and jewelry to seamlessly make them into a work of art. He has created timeless works of art with some of rock's and fashion's most notable artists and designers.  The mystic that has been created with little to no big announcement simply just works of art that were made and released within store or custom made for their clientele.
